Another Predecessor of  OOo ,same as Apanche OpenOffice but is really popular with linux specially Ubuntu.Ubuntu gives LibreOffice as Default with its OS.It's well maintained and it's updates and services are great in linux.It can also be used in mac OS and windows.Its completely free.
